Smart Growth
In October 1999, the State of Wisconsin enacted the most
ambitious land use legislation in a generation. Smart Growth for Wisconsin
ensures that by 2010, every city, village, county and most towns in the state
will be guided by a comprehensive plan as defined by state statute.
The Village has completed our Smart Growth plan which
basically updated our 1990 Village Master Plan. After approval by the
Village Plan Commission, a public hearing was conducted allowing the public to
comment on the Smart Growth plan. Minor modifications where made and the
Village Board of Trustees approved the Smart Growth Plan on March 17, 2008.
The complete plan is on file at the Village Hall and may also
be viewed at the Oconomowoc library. Below is a link to the Smart Growth
plan. Due to the size of the attachments (maps), they are not included
with the document at this time.
